Ahead of the UFC Freedom 250 event at the White House, legendary fighter Conor McGregor fired off several messages to show his support and also give an update to fans.

The 37-year-old McGregor hasn't competed since 2021, when he lost back-to-back fights that year to Dustin Poirier at UFC 257 in Abu Dhabi and UFC 258 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

However, he's set to return to the octagon over five years later, which has fans excited to see if he can return to his previous elite fighting form.

Meanwhile, McGregor appears to be among those watching and cheering from afar as Dana White has brought a stacked fight card, with a Sunday night event on the White House South Lawn.

"Good luck to the @ufc team tonight for their 'Freedom 250' event at the White House! What a company! God bless America," McGregor wrote in one X message, which included an American flag and praying hands emojis.

In another message, McGregor shared an update, indicating that he had recorded something with commentator Joe Rogan which will be shown during the event.

"Enjoy and good luck with the show! See you in Vegas!" he wrote, adding a "777" slot machine-style emoji.

McGregor also didn't hesitate to share a message about weather concerns, which might cause delays in the Washington, D.C. area during the event.

"In regards the weather, the showpiece elements around the fight can be sacrificed. As great as I know they are, the fights are paramount! @UFConParamount. Whatever window presents itself, stuff a scrap in it," McGregor wrote.

Earlier on Sunday, the Weather Channel reported potential "chaotic" weather could threaten the area, including thunderstorms, lightning, and heavy rain, along with high temperatures and the possibility of mosquitoes and gnats swarming the outdoor venue.

McGregor is returning for UFC 329 in Las Vegas on July 11, where he'll get a rematch with former opponent Max Holloway, whom he defeated at UFC Fight Night: Shogun vs. Sonnen in Boston in August 2013. It's been five years since McGregor's last fight, but many are anticipating seeing him back in the octagon.

Holloway seems to have a major advantage, having fought many fights during McGregor's five-year hiatus. That included battling the main event competitors from tonight's card, with a loss to Ilia Topuria in October 2024, and a win over Justin Gaethje at UFC 300, also in 2024.

McGregor will have his work cut out for him, but he may have been putting in a lot of training for his next event.

Most likely, he'll appear in a promotional piece with Rogan presented at UFC Freedom 250 Sunday night to help hype the event, and possibly his own in Vegas. Nonetheless, excitement is at an all-time high to see one of the all-time greats in UFC return next month.
