Jim Harbaugh and the Los Angeles Chargers flew under the radar in 2025, mainly because they were overshadowed by the Rams, who almost made it back to the Super Bowl. But, the Chargers are looking strong.

Harbaugh and the team should be interesting to watch in 2026. Michigan fans are still interested in Harbaugh's NFL run, but even casual football fans are taking notice.

In a feature for USA Today published on Friday, June 12, Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz names every NFL team from most to least entertaining. Now, this is subjective, of course. He notes that "there's no universal standard for football aesthetics."

"While transactions have mostly slowed to a trickle, the period before training camps doesn't tend to lend a lot of insight into the state of teams," he adds. "Prior to practices starting in a more formal summer setting, it can be difficult to make substantive assertions about the upcoming campaign. But summer is meant to be a time of fun, so let's assess each franchise on how amusing each team might be in the fall."

He lists the Chargers the No. 7 most entertaining team in the league.

"There's a strong argument to be made that the Chargers belong in the top five merely due to the hiring of Mike McDaniel, one of the league's most creative offensive architects," he notes in the piece. "There should be no restraints on his innovation as he takes over a Justin Herbert-helmed attack that should benefit greatly from a fresh outlook up front, both in personnel and scheme."

He adds: "The new emphasis might mean fewer deep shots for Herbert but an overall uptick in big plays, with receivers doing a bulk of their damage after the catch."
