Bryson DeChambeau will take the course at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club for the 126th playing of the U.S. Open this week, attempting to make his first major championship cut of the 2026 season.
DeChambeau struggled mightily in his first two major championship appearances of the year, missing the cut at both The Masters and PGA Championship. He shot 6-over at Augusta National and 7-over at Aronimink Golf Club, failing to play his way to the weekend on both occasions.
DeChambeau recognized these struggles with a social media post on Wednesday.
"Like this post if you think I’m going to make my first cut," he wrote as his caption on Instagram.

Earlier this month, DeChambeau was asked if he feels pressure to make the cut at the U.S. Open after failing to do so at both The Masters and PGA Championship.
“No. To be honest, missed cuts are gonna happen. I might miss all four of them in majors this year. That's just golf," DeChambeau said, via Flushing It. "Like, I’m playing great. I just haven't shown up when it mattered most."

DeChambeau will begin his first round alongside Viktor Hovland and Matt Fitzpatrick on Thursday, teeing off at 1:25 p.m. ET.
If DeChambeau is unable to make the cut this week, he'll have one more shot to make the weekend at a major championship this season. The Open Championship will take place at Royal Birkdale next month.
