The World Cup is the most prestigious sports tournament on the planet, but it also serves as a stage for players looking to progress their professional careers at the club level.

A good World Cup can take you from a third division team and give you a shot to make yourself a staple of one of the premier leagues in the world.

A great World Cup can make you the belle of the ball, where European giants are throwing money at what could be a lottery ticket that changes their club forever.

After the first five days of the tournament, here are three players who have already upped their values after their debuts at the World Cup.

Patrick Beach (Australia)

The 22-year-old goalie who plays in Australia's top domestic league, the A-League, wowed fans from around the world in his team's first game of the event against Turkey. Although the Turkish side had far more attacking talent and shot 30 times throughout the match, Beach never wavered, making big stop after big stop while also leading his team on the counterattack when needed. Currently, per transfermarkt, only around $1 million in value, that could skyrocket with some European clubs interested depending on how the rest of the tournament plays out.

Folarin Balogun (United States of America)

Funnily enough, Balogun and Beach will meet each other on Friday when the two top sides of Group D, the United States of America and Australia, face off in Seattle.

Balogun is unlike Beach, as the 24-year-old already is extremely valued and playing for a top European side in Monaco, but the former Arsenal product could rise his stock or even double it depending on how well he can keep up his form. He was clinical against Paraguay and nearly scored a hat trick in his World Cup debut.

If the United States can go far at home this summer, no one might benefit more than Balogun. He has all the tools and potential to get scooped up by an even bigger European club following this tournament.

Yan Diomande (Ivory Coast)

Beach might be a diamond in the rough, Balogun could be a star, but neither compare to the 19-year-old Diomande.

He is already regarded as one of the fastest rising young talents in the sport with top clubs possibly already interested in him, but there is a chance that he is the player most talked about this summer depending on how Ivory Coast does. Diomande already looked like a full-fledged ace against Ecuador, who possess one of the strongest defenses in the entire tournament.

A few goals, more electric dribbles, and Ivory Coast making it to the Round of 16 or deeper could turn Diomande into one of the most valuable players on Earth if everything aligns correctly for the prodigy.
