There appears to be some kind of face-off over Libbie Mugrabi’s Hamptons mansion, Page Six has learned.
The socialite and artist lost the home in a public auction, but cops have been called to the Southampton pad as the new owner attempts to take control of the property. It’s even scaring neighbors, we’re told.
Mugrabi was forced to sell her home in a court-ordered sale last month to pay off loans. Hopeful Queens politician and real estate investor Henry Ikezi won with a bid of $5.86 million, The Post reported in September.
Mugrabi has fled the property, we’re told, after initially refusing to leave. And the transfer has been one big mess ever since.
A source familiar with the situation claimed Izeki and his team are trying to gain entry into the home, but some of Mugrabi’s things and her staff are still occupying it.
In video obtained by Page Six, an alleged female associate of Ikezi can be overheard saying, “We’re gonna do this his way, or we’re gonna do this my way. We don’t want this my way.”
The saga has longtime neighbor Will Kaplan concerned for his mom, who resides next door.
Kaplan, who splits his time between London and Southampton, says he’s been getting nonstop calls from Mugrabi and her family members, all concerned about what’s transpiring at her home.
“My mom’s really terrified about this, and about the conduct to all parties,” he told us.
“Libbie’s a vulnerable individual in need of assistance and nothing is being done, and it’s spilling over into the community,” Kaplan added.
A spokesperson for the Southampton Town Police Department confirmed there was “one call for service” to Mugrabi’s home last week.
Ikezi vehemently denied harassing and threatening Mugrabi’s staff and said, “We’re going to adjudicate any legal matters we have in court and not in the press.”
Still, “We’ve been concerned for a while. It’s just another example of problems for Libbie, and most people in the neighborhood will not engage with her and the problems,” Kaplan said. “The alleged conduct of Mr. Ikezi and other parties have really scared her, and the community.”
“I really think she’s been a victim of financial abuse by multiple parties … She’s now homeless, and it’s very dangerous,” he said.
“Good neighbors can only go so far. It’s time for Libbie’s family to wake up and help her,” Kaplan concluded.
Mugrabi did not comment.
