Kaley Cuoco was candid about her desire to become a mom years before she and then-boyfriend Tom Pelphrey welcomed their first baby — and her quotes about motherhood have only become more insightful. Cuoco and Pelphrey’s daughter, Matilda, arrived in March 2023, less than one year after the couple went public with their romance in May 2022. The pair, now engaged, announced in June 2026 that they are expanding their family with baby No. 2. Prior to her relationship with Pelphrey, Cuoco was married twice. Cuoco and her first husband, Ryan Sweeting, called it quits in September 2015 after two years of marriage, while she and her second husband, Karl Cook, split in September 2021 after tying the knot in June 2018. Before she found The One in Pelphrey, Cuoco dreamt about becoming a mother. ”I can't wait actually to have kids surrounded by all the dogs at our house too and the horses, and raise them with animals and [show them] how to treat them correctly,” she gushed to E! Cuoco, who was married to Sweeting at the time, gushed that she was “born to be a wife, born to be a mom” in a 2014 interview with E! News.

Cuoco told Entertainment Tonight in May 2023 that baby Matilda was “thriving” and “the best,” after welcoming her less than one month prior.

“It’s a wild thing. I was trying to explain to our couple’s therapist the other day why I’m so tired,” Cuoco recalled during a November 2024 appearance on Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. “I was explaining to her that taking care of a 19-month-old is like taking care of your drunk best friend every day. All day, literally all day.”

The 8 Simple Rules alum explained, “They’re crying when they don’t get what they want, you’re making sure they make it to the bathroom or you’re cleaning their throw up from whatever.”

She continued, “They’re out of their minds and you’re making sure they don’t die all day long. And then they black out and you’re like ready to die and they wake up and they’re like, ‘What’s for breakfast?’”

Cuoco joked, “And you’re like, ‘What?’ I’m like, ‘Do you even know what happened last night?’” adding that it was “insane and it happens every day.”

“Completing our little family, what a dream come true!” Cuoco wrote via Instagram in June 2026, announcing she’s pregnant with baby No. 2. “This second time around journey has been a little windier in many ways, but wow we are so grateful for this moment!!”
