The NBA is in a bit of a transition period as superstar players LeBron James, Steph Curry and Kevin Durant enter the twilight of their careers. But according to all-time great point guard Magic Johnson, the league is in good hands.

During an appearance with ESPN's "First Take" on Friday morning, Magic Johnson shared his positive outlook regarding the future of the NBA.

“When Steph, LeBron, and KD go, we’re in good hands," Johnson said. "I didn’t know what was going to happen. I was scared. But now with these superstars that we have, the way the Knicks are playing. Now we got back to team basketball and not about individuals.

"The Knicks have really helped us understand, when you play team basketball you can achieve great things. I'm excited, man. This is great. This is awesome for everybody."

The Knicks are one win away from securing the franchise's first NBA title since 1973. In Game 4 on Wednesday night, New York mounted the largest comeback in NBA Finals history — erasing a 29-point San Antonio Spurs lead at Madison Square Garden.

Jalen Brunson led the way for the Knicks, scoring a game-high 36 points. OG Anunoby recorded a playoff career-high 33 points, including a game-winning tip-in with just over one second remaining in the contest.
