The NBA Finals are set to be an intense clash between the young, hungry San Antonio Spurs, led by Victor Wembanyama, and the determined, veteran New York Knicks, led by Jalen Brunson.
New York reached the Finals after defeating the Atlanta Hawks, 4-2, in the first round and then dominating the Philadelphia 76ers and Cleveland Cavaliers in two straight sweeps.
San Antonio's path was a bit more challenging, as they had to defeat the Portland Trail Blazers in the first round, then the talented Minnesota Timberwolves, and finally the defending-champion Oklahoma City Thunder.
The two teams present a unique and exciting matchup, with sports personalities and analysts, including former NBA champion Kendrick Perkins, giving out their predictions for the winner.

During ESPN's "SportsCenter," Perkins said this NBA Finals will be a "brawl for it all" and that people shouldn't be so quick to crown the Western Conference champions.
"I know a lot of people was saying the winner of OKC and the Spurs was going to win the championship, but they got the Knicks messed up. The way the Knicks have been playing, and they have one thing that nobody else have. The Knicks have Karl-Anthony Towns, an offensive threat that could pull Wemby away from the basket, which is going to open up so many other areas offensively for the New York Knicks," he said.
"And so when I look at how the Knicks are gelling in this postseason, playing the agenda-free basketball, doing all the little things, losing themselves in the team, the Spurs got their work put out for them. I'm not saying that it's not going to go the distance, but right now I'm leaning more towards the Knicks winning this series in seven, to be honest with you," Perkins said.
It's worth noting that many of the personalities and analysts on sports shows tend to fluctuate in their predictions throughout the playoffs. In a previous series, Perkins believed the Spurs would lose to the Timberwolves and then again to OKC in the Western Conference Finals.
However, that did not happen, and Perkins, along with other personalities, began hyping up the 22-year-old Wembanyama's accomplishments, which are impressive at such a young age. He's also got young, talented stars around him, including 21-year-old Stephon Castle and 20-year-old Dylan Harper, both of whom were in the top four of their draft classes.
Meanwhile, the Knicks feature veteran players who have been in the league for much longer and seem just as hungry to win that first NBA championship ring. The average age of the Knicks roster is over 27, including Brunson, 29, and Towns, 30.
While nobody on this Knicks team has ever been in that elite player or superstar conversation, they're showing they're a well-oiled machine that is firing on all cylinders, battle-tested, and ready to bring a championship to NYC.
The NBA Finals between the Knicks and Spurs tip off Wednesday at 8:40 p.m. ET.
