Bendita Film Sales has picked up international sales rights for “3 Weeks After,” by writer-director Miroslav Terzić, which is world premiering in the Crystal Globe Competition at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival.

The film, which is inspired by true events, explores violence among children as a reflection of a society where cruelty is increasingly witnessed and normalized.

When a school trip leaves a group of teenagers stranded far from home, the recent suicide of a classmate begins to expose the fractures, loyalties and secrets holding them together.

The film features Jovan Ginić (“Lost Country”), Tihana Lazić (“The High Sun”) and Branislav Trifunović (“The Game”).

Terzić’s debut feature, “Redemption Street,” premiered at the São Paulo Film Festival and won Best Debut Feature at Cottbus. His second feature, “Stitches,” premiered in Berlinale’s Panorama section, where it won the Europa Cinemas Label Award and the Panorama Audience Award.

“3 Weeks After” is produced by This and That Productions in Serbia, Invictus in Bulgaria, Nightswim in Italy, Kinorama in Croatia and Paul Thiltges Distributions in Luxembourg.

It is supported by Film Center Serbia, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia, Film Fund Luxembourg, the Bulgarian National Film Center, Ministero Della Cultura – Direzione Generale Cinema e Audiovisivo, Croatian Audiovisual Center (HAVC), Creative Europe Media and Cinedora.

Luis Renart, CEO at Bendita Film Sales, commented: “Miroslav Terzić crafts a deeply unsettling portrait of adolescence with remarkable precision and restraint, revealing how violence can take root within the ordinary and remain invisible until it can no longer be ignored. The result is a film of rare, haunting emotional force that lingers long after the final frame.”

“ ‘3 Weeks After’ is a film we have carried for six years with great care, and finding the right international sales partner was an important step for us. Bendita Film Sales immediately recognized the film’s sensitivity, urgency and emotional complexity, as well as Miroslav Terzić’s precise directorial vision. We feel we have found a partner who will support the film’s international journey with both care and passion,” producer Snezana van Houwelingen of This and That Productions said.
