Both of Jay Wright's NCAA Tournament national championship teams at Villanova featured Jalen Brunson, who just led the New York Knicks to the franchise's first NBA title since 1973 with a victory over the San Antonio Spurs.

Brunson, along with his former Villanova teammates Josh Hart and Mikal Bridges, took down the Spurs in five games — completing one of the the most dominant postseason runs in NBA history.

Brunson was named Finals MVP after averaging 32.6 points per game in the championship series. He closed out the series with a legendary performance, scoring a series-high 45 points in Game 5.

Brunson silenced countless doubters with this championship performance. Many doubted his ability to lead a championship team as the clear No. 1 option, including Wright.
