Jalen Brunson led the New York Knicks to the franchise's first NBA title since 1973, taking down the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Finals.
Brunson averaged an astounding 32.6 points per game in the championship series, enough to earn him Finals MVP honors. The 6-foot-2 All-Star point guard closed out the series with a historic 45-point performance in Game 5, notching a 94-90 victory over Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs in San Antonio.
Brunson silenced many doubters with this performance — particularly the doubters who claimed he was too small to lead an NBA championship team as the No. 1 option.
Allen Iverson knows a thing or two about overcoming questions about height. The 6-foot guard led the NBA in scoring four times, winning MVP in 2000-01.
Iverson made one career trip to the NBA Finals, but was unable to overcome Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O'Neal and the Lakers in the 2001 championship series.
"Congratulations Lil Big Man!!" Iverson wrote on Instagram. "'If you think you can, you’re right. If you think you can’t, you’re right.'"

During his press conference after the Knicks' Game 5 victory in San Antonio, Brunson was asked if he had a response for all those who doubted him.
"I didn't respond to them then and I'm damn sure not going to respond to them now," Brunson replied.
